Holiday Tips For a Child On The Spectrum With "I Support Foundation"
ISF has announced its much-awaited winter holiday break from 27 December 2020!
As we are entering the heart of the holiday season, please remember that your autistic child might experiences the holidays differently. To your child, the holidays might mean a disruption in routines, needing to socialize more than usual (even if via Zoom), smells of cleaning supplies and holiday foods, and other disruptive sensory inputs.
.
As you are making your holiday plans, remember to make adjustments for your child on the spectrum. They still need a schedule. A visual one is the best. Your child will benefit from having that schedule reviewed, maybe more than one time. Have it available for the child to look at throughout the day.
